Presentation Title: Designing for Standard 15 with Next Generation Refrigerants

 

Come join the ASHRAE Gold Coast Chapter for the first meeting of the ASHRAE year! Our speaker this month is Christopher Williams, Unitary Applications Engineer. He will be presenting on this topic on Tuesday (09/13/2022) evening starting at approximately 6:00 P.M. Our meeting will include a spread of food for attendees to enjoy as well as an open bar for the first hour, so get there early!

We will be having the meeting in person at  Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Florida.

  1. General review of changes to Standard 15
  2. Discuss new mitigation strategies and opportunities for A2L
  3. Overview of new design practices for A2L

 

Presented by Chris Williams, Unitary Applications Engineer

Christopher is a Senior Engineer with Trane Technologies Unitary Applications Engineering. A graduate of Texas Tech University, with 25 years of industry experience, he has served in a multitude of roles including project execution, sales, operations leadership, and counselor-based solutions.  Working with fellow team members he combines his engineering knowledge and many years of field experience to help customers understand the correct HVAC system choice, their strengths, and their weaknesses.

Christopher is the Chair of ASHRAE SGPC 41 Guideline for Variable Refrigerant Flow.  He is also a voting member of ASHRAE SSPC 15 Refrigerant Safety, SSPC 147 Release of Refrigerants, TC 8.7 VRF, and TC 10.3 Refrigerant Piping.  In addition to ASHRAE, Christopher has served with the AHRI Ductless Engineering Committee.

Christopher and his family reside near Clarksville, Tennessee.  Christopher is very active with the Boy Scouts of America.  With his children’s help they are raising a non-hunting beagle, free-loading chickens, and a mess of petulant honeybees.
